Sheikh Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab began his mission after memorizing the Holy Qur’an, learning the Islamic sciences, and traveling to Mecca, Medina, and Basra. To impart knowledge to its scholars, and what he witnessed of some of the heresies that most common people do; Such as praying at the graves of the dead, believing in benefit and harm in them, wiping them, circumambulating them, and other false beliefs.
Sheikh Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab began with Prince Muhammad bin Saud to establish, and Prince Muhammad focused on establishing security and spreading the reformist call within Diriyah. The Sheikh stayed for two years calling people to pure monotheism. He wrote to the scholars and princes, inviting them to accept his reformist call and to join Prince Muhammad bin Saud. He began with the people of Najd, then wrote its scholars and princes, wrote the scholars of Al-Ahsa and the scholars of the Two Holy Mosques, as well as wrote the scholars from outside the Arabian Peninsula, the scholars of Egypt, the Levant, Iraq, India, and Yemen. The result of this was that many of those who believed in his call joined, and at the top of the countries that declared their loyalty were the towns of Al-Uyaynah, Huraymila, the town of Manfuha, and the towns of Al-Arid. Such as: Al-Ammariyah, Al-Quwayiyah, Shaqraa, Al-Hawta, Al-Mahmal, Thadiq, Al-Qasab, Al-Fur’a, and Tharmada. But after those countries declared obedience and loyalty to the House of Saud, it happened that some of them denied their pacts with Diriyah, and some of them declared a revolution against them, which called on the Emir of Diriyah to confront each country individually, until he was able to return them all to his obedience.
